Los Cabos Wedding Vibes with Organic & Terracotta Elements

This beautiful intimate Los Cabos wedding, combining the architecture of Solaz Resort and the lush gardens of Purto Raíz, is a result of two art and nature lovers from Mexico city. They choose beautiful Los Cabos for celebrating their legal wedding vows, being joined by their closest family members for a private and relaxed celebration.

Sofia and Martin wanted an intimate wedding set in nature to balance the legal and somewhat sober part of the ritual. The very special tree at Puerto Raíz served as the perfect site. They were always very fond of the wild, special flowers frequently used by Marianna Idirin of the Event Design by Marianna Idirin, and they intended to be surrounded by beautiful pieces of nature throughout the entire celebration, from the ceremony to the dinner. They wanted something elegant and special but at the same time low key, family only.

We met Sofia at the Solaz Resort where she was getting ready. We didn’t have a chance to meet before, but we immediately connected! Her elegance and style were contagious, and soon we were giggling and taking bridal portraits like we knew each other for years.

Sofia and Martin decided to do the first look there at Solaz. The setting was spectacular and the emotions were overwhelming. I think by the time they looked at each other for the first time, we were all wiping our tears.

After some good laughs, and some pre-ceremony photos, we headed towards Puerto Raiz, a lovely garden and orchard in San Jose del Cabo. There, the team of Event Design by Marianna Idirin and amazing floral designer Pina Cate, created a magical ceremony site under an ancient tree.

Sofia said, later, about their wedding ceremony: “Being under the tree at Puerto Raiz while the ceremony was taking place, the beautiful pre-sunset sunlight filled the area and it was a very emotional moment when we both said “I do”. By coincidence, church bells sounded in the background at just the right moment. We think that was a wink from our ancestors above!”

For the wedding ceremony, we created a very organic look, the floral design looked like if they were coming from the tree itself; we did not want to impose on the space and change it, explained Marianna Idirin. The idea was that the nature be the protagonist look of the wedding, therefore we used our creativity to enhance the place, and we all, including the couple and their guests, fell in love with the look.

The reception took place in a lush nook of the garden, under the trees. It was like having a family dinner in a private garden, with hand-woven lamps, soft cushions, and beautiful florals. The event designer and wedding planner Marianna Idirin said “For the design, we wanted to include as much nature as possible, warm colors, terracotta, and natural materials. The intention was to create a very intimate ambiance full of little details like candle lights and hanging lanterns from the tree which gave a very cozy look and feel. We wanted to maintain the space as natural as possible, that the reception table would fit into nature without breaking the magic of the space. For example, we set the table on a bed of dry leaves from the tree above, there was no need to place special flooring.”

We hope this small selection of photos shows how special and unique Sofia and Martin’s Los Cabos wedding was. Be it a small or large celebration, it is always the details that make a difference. And love, lots and lots of love!
